I'm Proud of Us!

I am proud of our Country tonight! Very proud! Politics is a subject that I normally shy away from. I'll talk about it with Hubby and with my Mom or Grandmother but that is pretty much about it. So, this post will be a rare, a more than likely one time thing!

First of all, I am registered as a Democrat. And the reason why, well because that is what my Grandmother is registered as, what my Mother is registered as. I didn't know the difference when I was younger, I honestly didn't pay attention in my Government class back in the day. So when I registered, I checked the Democrat box, because that is what I knew. I still don't know much about politics but I've been voting for 17 years now. Religiously. There have been very few that I have missed. I vote because it is my right. And that is my story...

I think it is amazing the numbers of people that voted in this election! People realizing just how important their one voice is. Banding together as one to make a change. Change is good. I am proud to be able to say that I was a part of the history that is being made today!

I had Sprout #1 sit and watch both speeches that were given tonight and both times he looked at me and said, "Mom, please tell me that you aren't about to cry!" Well, I was. Yes, during both speeches. Not just for the man I voted for, but for the one I didn't choose as well. I didn't make my decision on who I was going to vote for until today, when I colored in that box on my ballot. Either one would have made a great leader for our Country in my eyes. The one I voted for...he won. And people I sure do believe, YES WE CAN! :)

As for other things we voted on today, I will keep my opinions to myself. There are some things that are better off left unsaid...

Watching the images of celebrations in the streets all over the Country is also bringing tears to my eyes tonight! It is just awesome that we live in a place like this!

So my point of this whole thing was for me to say Way to Go USA! Way to Go! Yeah Us! Yeah USA! :) Thanks for voting with me today!
