It Was Fun While It Lasted...

I've been playing softball in some shape or form since I was 7 or 8 years old. I love the game, love it. In my day I was really good at it...those were the days when I could run, and slide and dive for the ball and just get down and dirty. These days I'm average, I can hit still and catch still but the ball has to be in my vicinity for me to have a chance at it...and I can only make it on base if I hit that ball really, really far. Yesterday I played in a tournament with a few of my friends that I met on my son's baseball team. I really had a great time, but I also realized that I may have to call it quits. Besides my knees not being what they use to, my right foot is on the fritz. I'll finally go and see the Doctor this week about it because I can barely walk without being in pain...so, until I get all checked out and fixed I'm going to have to say Adios to the game I love. It was fun while it lasted....I hope we get to play again someday.
